JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for ensuring the care, education and safety of the children assigned.  This position provides supports for the assigned classroom and assists with activities.  This position is part of a team and works with this team to provide optimal care. 

This position is responsible for development and delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations, and for upholding the mission and standards of the organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Requires knowledge of appropriate activities and an understand of the stages of development and basic childcare practices.  Requires skill in basic arts and crafts in order to conduct daily activities for children.  Requires ability to react positively under stress and in emergency situations.  Requires ability to give and follow oral and written instructions as given by parents and supervisors. 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Maintains 6-12 hours of annual in-service hours dependent upon number of hours scheduled per week. Use hours available through Tabitha or approved through the Director. 

Need to maintain CPR and First Aid Certification contingent on assigned schedule.

Valid Nebraska driver’s license and proof of good driving record preferred.

EDUCATION/TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must have at least one year of experience in early childhood education OR at least one year of coursework in early childhood education.
