The Financial Service Representative position provides superior customer service through listening to customers, anticipating their needs, and recommending financial services. Opens new accounts, takes loan applications, and refers customers to specialized bankers, such as Business Bankers and Mortgage Originators, to ensure the needs of the customer are met. Educates customers on automated service options available includng ATMs, Internet Banking, etc. Supports the goals of the branch through effective teamwork. As indicated by level, may assist with routine Teller transactions on an on-going bases, may train employees, may assit Branch Manager, etc. Pursues on-gong education of SunTrust products, services and other lines of business.
The successfull candidate will have advanced knowledge and ability in servicing and selling personal an business products and services. Experience working in a financial services environment and/or in a sales/customer service position is a plus. Previous experience training new employees, lead sales cammpaigns within the branch and act as a resource for systems or report expetise. Proven experience or ability to achieve expansion and retention goals for key branch relationships and house accounts. Must demonstrate superior proactive sales skills; may mentor others; limited outside business development calls. Responsible for opening and closing a branch, check approval, and acts as a resource for other branch employees in the absence of the Branch Manager.
Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. 1 year retail sales experience or six months financial sales excperience. Ability to respond in a professional manner with a high level of service quality. Excellent verbal communication skills
Preferred Requirements: License or obtain license within six months. (Series 6, 63, 66, Life, Health) College level courses. 1 year in retail branch sales and strong probing and listening skills to uncover customer needs. Understanding of consumer and business lending instruments as well as deposit products. Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
