Position Description

Major Job Function:
The Group Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for evaluating and implementing groups in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and for reviewing and processing benefit changes. This position also performs quality checks, processes ID cards and schedule of benefits.

Essential Job Functions
1. Processing group coverage for both the small group business and the large group business that is low to moderate in benefit design complexity with high accuracy and within the established turn around requirements.
2. Perform peer reviews on the quality of group enrollment activity.
3. Process ID cards and schedule of benefits, and order billings.
4. Maintain several tracking systems accurately and timely.
5. Assist with special projects as needed.
6. Ability to work overtime during heavy work volume or as deadlines loom.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. An understanding of health benefits and group business.
2. Solid understanding of the mainframe environment for group data and membership.
3. An understanding in the underwriting rating practices.
4. Proficient with MS Access, Excel, and Outlook.
5. Ability to work independently and within a team.
6. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work flow as needed.
7. Must be reliable and have predictable attendance.
8. Very detail-oriented.
9. Adaptable to change a must.
10. Highly motivated and works with both internal and external customers with a positive attitude.

Education, Training and Experience Required
1. Bachelor's degree in Business preferred.
2. 0-2 years experience in Membership, Benefits or related department.
