GENERAL SUMMARY:Coordinates staffing and scheduling systems for Private Duty
Nursing and CHHC World.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains an accurate, master computerized scheduling staffing system for PDN and CHHC World as directed by PDN Manager.
- Does master schedule of nursing and child care partner hours per PDN & CHHC World policy and procedures, which includes staffing parental requested patient hours as ordered by MD; authorized by payer sources and as directed by Manger.
- Ensures that monthly master schedule is completed by 10th of previous month and relayed to staff.
- Ensures that staffing personnel profiles in Access are current and accurate and notifies Team Leaders/Manager of changes (phone numbers, cases orientated to, etc.)
- Assists in meeting monthly budget by consistently working to meet daily, weekly and monthly required staffing hours/ratios.
- Maintains current master schedule and open shift list in the staffing book and computer at all times.
- Facilitates the daily staffing process for PDN and CHHC World.
- Does day to day staffing ensuring proper ratios are met at center and hours staffed in home appropriately.
- Enters accurate information from daily assignments/staff hours to include, but not limited to MSR/VSR, ill calls, cancellations, open shifts, tardies and absences; and reports any staffing concerns to Team Leaders/Manager.
- Assists with ensuring that staffs hours worked are entered correctly in schedules and time clock.
- Communicates daily report to on-call staff and respiratory with any staffing issues and changes that have happened or needed.
- Maintains daily staff and after hour call logs per policy.
- Keeps primary nurses and/or team leaders updated on changes with their cases as appropriate.
- Assist with obtaining, verifying, checking, and data entry of MD orders received on PDN and CHHC World patients and communicating new order to appropriate staff/family.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
- Provides direct and indirect nursing care in a professional manner based on the Physician Plan of Treatment and the nursing care plan Documentation reflects accurate assessment/evaluation, modification, and patient’s response to therapy, changes in conditions, and therapeutic interventions/procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must possess a current valid Nebraska RN license/RN Compact License
- Must be certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, without loss of efficiency or composure, and be able to perform under stressful conditions when confronted with multiple requests, demonstrating prioritizing skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Experience with pediatric patients preferred.
- Experience in the home care environment preferred.
- Experience caring for patients requiring ventilator assistance.
