Position Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Develops, configures, tests and maintains Children’s Hospital’s computer applications. Researches, analyzes and corrects system and user problems. Works with various departments to define system requirements and implement changes as needed to the existing systems.

Develops, configures, tests and maintains Children’s Hospital’s computer applications. Researches, analyzes and corrects system and user problems. Works with various departments to define system requirements and implement changes as needed to the existing systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Design, configure, test and maintain Children’s Hospital’s computer applications to accomplish the hospital’s strategic goals and meet the needs of the end-users.
- Research, analyze and correct system and user problems in a timely manner and maintain documentation of issues and resolutions.
- Set up new user logons and maintain system user security for Children’s Hospital’s computer applications.
- Participate on project teams or work with individual departments to define requirements for changing new & existing systems. Works with the team to define process flows & make recommendations for the most efficient utilization of applications.
- Design and modify reports as needed from the various Children’s applications.
- Monitor multiple system interfaces & identify & resolve issues when they arise. Contact vendors for assistance as needed.
- Completes special projects and performs other related duties as assigned.
- Assists with end-user training as needed.
- Participates as needed in system/application selection activities.
- Current technical knowledge of Information Technology, focusing on application development and support.
- Current knowledge of applying technology focused in the area of Healthcare.
- Skill in use of MS Office applications.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to utilize critical thinking skills for problem solving.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or medical profession preferred or equivalent experience normally acquired by at least 2-3 years experience in the Information Technology Healthcare field.
