Position Description

The primary duties of the Senior Mechanical Engineer is to coordinate the work of Mechanical Engineers with the balance of a multi-disciplined team throughout the entire projects development. Establishes client relations, and is involved with the marketing, design and production meetings with regard to mechanical systems. Assumes the Mechanical Lead on many projects. Participates in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. Conducts schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at project site in conjunction with Project Manager, Project Architect and other disciplines. Is responsible to coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule. Is responsible to track the financial aspects of the projects, and coordinates and adjusts the work effort with the team to ensure that the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed to schedule. Works with the Project Manager, Regional Controller and the Regional Director for project reviews with corporate management on an as needed basis. Additionally, this individual will be supervising engineering and CAD staff and may act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.

Requires a BSME from an ABET accredited program in the USA. 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design, analysis and preparation of contract documents, including significant fossil power generation projects. Possibility position can lead into Department Management position. Experience with environmental control technologies is desirable, including flue gas scrubbers, SCR, bag houses, and ESP?s. This candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be able to deliver both large and small projects with the ability to interface successfully with clients.
