Position Description

Reviews structural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines. Writes/edits structural specifications, selects procedures, materials and their respective sizes, and completes necessary calculations. Independently coordinates the work of the structural design team through the design development and contract document phases of a project. Establishes meetings and participates in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. Conducts design development and contract document work sessions at project site in conjunction with Project Manager and other disciplines. Is responsible to coordinate workload through design development and construction document phases to complete the documents on schedule. Coordinates and assists, with affected disciplines, with any addendum, requests for information, change proposal requests and change orders and is responsible to incorporate agreed upon changes into the project documents. Keywords: 052101, Structural Engineer Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on building structures. 4+ years structural engineering experience as it relates to building design. Professional registration preferred. Healthcare experience preferred. Able to produce structural calculations (including FEA) as required for projects. Proficient in design using IBC, ACI and AISC codes. Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood. Computer knowledge (Ram, Advanse, and/or ETABS).
