Position Description

HDR / SWRI is in search of a Fisheries Biologist II to join our growing Sacramento, CA
environmental sciences group. The primary duties of the Fisheries Biologist II will be to
prepare quantitative and qualitative fishery and aquatic resource impact evaluations and
related technical analyses, develop experimental designs, develop and review technical
reports, and provide on-going technical support for various types of projects related to
aquatic resources. Work with clients, resource agencies, technical staff, and project
managers in the preparation of technical sections of CEQA, NEPA, and ESA documents,
technical memoranda, meeting minutes, transmittals, presentations, and other written
materials. Perform archival/electronic research to obtain data, documents, and other
information, to be compiled, summarized, and/or integrated directly into project
deliverables.

Bachelors degree (BS) in Biology or related field. MS preferred.
3+ years minimum experience with biological/environmental projects.
Understanding of salmonid biology/ecology and west coast fishery management issues.
Knowledge of data collection, interpretation, reduction, analysis, and presentation; working
knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and ESA desirable.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment. Minimum Experience: 4
