The primary duties of the Senior Rail Engineer will include all aspects of client and design-team management of commuter, shortline, freight, transit and class-one rail projects. Knowledge of and experience with railroad/transit planning and final design. More specific duties include coordinating the planning and environmental process as well as managing the assembly of plans, specifications and construction estimate packages. Additionally, this person will be viewed as a key individual to serve as a high level point of contact between the client and HDR. You must be comfortable with being viewed as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity while planning and developing projects or design activities which have significant impact on major company programs. You must also be able to plan, organize, and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians. Although may serve as project manager on larger projects, project management is not sole focus of position.
