For this water/wastewater construction project, the Construction Manager (CM) will be
responsible for assisting the Project Manager with all facets of project execution
including, but not limited to, direction and coordination of the field office and
management and administration of the prime contract and construction subcontracts. The CM
is responsible for supervision of all field operations on assigned projects. Support will
include, but not be limited to estimating, procurement, project controls, etc. In addition,
the CM may be expected to support operations at the site of other projects.
The CM will also be responsible for:
- Administering and managing construction activities.
- Monitoring progress of the overall design as related to construction requirements.
- Performing value engineering and constructability reviews.
- Coordinating local bidding efforts for quotes obtained in the field.
- Assisting in procurement of purchase orders and subcontract packages.
- Coordinating, expediting, and reviewing construction submittals.
- Managing subcontract packages.
- Responding to requests for information.
- Controlling the project budget and schedule.
- Coordinating and managing project quality assurance and control, and inspection services.
- Managing site safety.
- Ensuring subcontractor compliance with the Health and Safety Program through communication
and inspections.
- Preparing and updating project schedules, pay requests, and daily, weekly, and monthly
progress, budget, and schedule management reports.
- Project setup and temporary facilities.
- Permitting.
- Field document control.
- Daily reports.
- Progress photographs.
- Material handling (receiving & inventory, storage, spare parts).
- Coordinate local bidding efforts.
A degree in Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management, or equivalent is
desired, along with ten years of experience in various aspects of construction planning and
management including, but not limited to estimating, bidding, preparing and administering
purchase orders and subcontracts, scheduling, cost control, etc. Previous experience in the
field is required.
Must have srong people skills and the ability to interact with the design team. Experience
with estimating software (Timberline preferred), scheduling software (Primavera P3 or
SureTrak preferred), and project management software (Prolog preferred).
