• Requires knowledge of the nursing process, principles of infectious disease and adult learning, safety principles, principles of wellness and health promotion, occupational health concerns including relevant worker’s compensation regulations, OSHA standards, and industrial first aid standards, rehab programs including work hardening and back to school programs. 
• Requires knowledge of general industrial health concerns including general physicals, emergency room procedures, drug testing and lab procedures.
• Skilled in promoting positive relations when interacting with patients or other customers.

Physical Requirements

• This position functions in an environmentally controlled hospital.  This position is classified as Light Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
•  Requires frequent standing, walking and sitting (66% - 100%of time). 
• This position may at times require full range of body motion including the handling of patients, as well as manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. This position requires very substantial amounts (up to 50% or more of time) of reaching, handling and fingering as required with the manipulation of paperwork or of the operation of a computer keyboard. 
• This position requires very substantial (up to 50% or more of time) amounts of talking and hearing as involved with communication with hospital staff, patients, families and visitors. 
• Requires a variable schedule depending on work assignment. 
• Travel may be required within the metropolitan area and surrounding community. 
• Equipment used includes computer terminals, AV equipment, and satellite system.
