We are seeking a committed leader to join our health care organization. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree, Master’s degree in Health/Hospital Administration. Registered Nurse, eligible for Iowa licensure. Minimum of 5 years of nursing administration experience.
Experience: Current professional nursing concepts and principles, management principles, regulatory agency standards, such as JCAHO, Medicare, OSHA, etc., problem solving, communication, negotiating, change agent, confrontation management, team building, oral and written communication to staff, president, division managers, and physicians, supervise, direct and develop staff, interpret financial data and productivity reports, guide, direct and lead a major division.
Job Duties:
- Assures that a nursing division representative participates in an annual meeting with nursing educators to influence curricula involving clinical and other learning experiences.
- Serves as administrative representative on selected medical staff committees as determined by the Chief Executive Officer.
- Develops a strategic plan for nursing. Evaluates the progress of the plan quarterly and re-directs the course of action as needed.
- Ensures that nursing data is merged with clinical, fiscal, and management information. Analyzes turnover, absenteeism rates, productivity summaries, and other essential data and reports and assures that a plan of action is developed if necessary.
- Plans and insures that system for delivery of nursing care is based on need, fiscal resources, skill levels, and practice patterns.
- Evaluates, selects and integrates health care technology and management information systems that support/improve the provision of patient care. Participates in meetings to guide nursing care activities and system/technology.
- Approves policies/procedures, staffing plans and nursing standards of patient care and standards of nursing practice. Prior to implementation, reviews revisions, policies/procedures and standards to assure description guides patient care requirements and patient population needs.
- Interacts with Medical Staff on relevant clinical issues on a regular basis. Seeks out Medical Staff members to resolve clinical issues Insures that regulatory agency standards are met regarding JCAHO, OSHA, Department of Inspections, etc., in appropriate areas of responsibility.
- Schedules appropriate focus groups to address issues and concerns relative to the contract.
- Conducts personal management interviews with directors.
