Perform Certified Social Worker functions with caseload of individuals with mental retardation; establish and maintain effective working relationships with persons served, guardians, families and employees to assist in the problem solving associated with active treatment; serve as primary liaison and advocate between guardians/families of persons served and interdisciplinary team; attend and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings; maintain records of interactions, guardians and families; follow relevant laws, ethical guidelines and facility policy to gain informed consents; gather all social services information on potential persons served prior to intake activities; maintain contact with service coordination to facilitate placement when deemed appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS: Must be certified as a Social Worker in Nebraska. Prefer Bachelors degree in social work with experience in the field of mental retardation/developmental disabilities services. Familiarity with case management, the interdisciplinary process, general advocacy services and behavior therapy preferred. Some travel may be required.
