Physicians Mutual is looking for a Senior Systems Analyst for our Enterprise Technology Group. A successful candidate will provide a systematic approach to eliciting, organizing, and documenting software requirements as a foundation for the systems that enable our client's business objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leads and coordinates requirements elicitation and use-case modeling by outlining the system's functionality and delimiting the system.
- Identifies what actors exist and what use cases they will require when interacting with the system; this will be modeled as use cases, activity diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
- Determines the consequences of various system changes and analyzing and documenting software application and system requirements models.
- Trains, coaches and mentors team members.
Job Qualifications:
- College degree with major course work in business, management information systems, or computer science, or equivalent training is required.
- Three to five years of systems analysis work experience is required to prepare for this position.
- Demonstrated understanding of project lifecycles and methodologies such as RUP is required.
- Experience organizing and documenting different requirement types based on the Rational Unified Process (RUP) methodology; experience using Rational Rose and Rational RequisitePro to manage requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing client expectations based on external and internal constraints (e.g. project budget and schedule); experience with multiple requirements gathering techniques (e.g. workshops, interviews); demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic team-oriented project work environment.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills in order to perform problem analysis, understanding stakeholder needs and ability to define the system solution.
- Ability to articulate technical architectural concepts to non-technical staff.
- Some knowledge in Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA) and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) using the Unified Modeling Language (UML) is preferred; some knowledge of a Service Oriented Architecture is preferred.
- Experience with IAA/IIW is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience structuring large systems into smaller more manageable parts.
- Proficient in structured analysis and design using dataflow diagrams and logic modeling.
- Experience in business process modeling is preferred; understanding of data warehouse concepts is preferred.
- Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills; ability to complete tasks on time, within budget and at a high level of quality.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and coaching less experienced Systems Analysts.
- Flexibility to adapt to and work in a dynamic, changing and fast-paced environment.
